Independent benchmarks have identified an average performance improvement of around 250% in most cases.
On large volumes of data the improvement has been measured to be up to 600%.
Ability to compress data before transmission to the target machine for improved transfer times. Data is normally compressed by 50-80% dependent upon the data content of the file. This is a major benefit when transferring to remote sites.
Running Requests - Including Scheduling
RouteOne requests can be run as a command, therefore enabling the requests to be scheduled, included as an option on a users menu or incorporated into a CL program. The command has a number of parameters which may be overridden, including the run time parameters. Retry options can be specified in case the target system is not available.
The IBM scheduler is included as an option on the RouteOne menu.
Automatic Email
The ability to automatically email the transferred data in any format either as an attachment or a shortcut to any number of recipients. The file may be zipped beforehand. E-mail messages may also be sent, these can be automatically populated with information about the data such as totals calculated in the extract, date transferred, file name number of records etc.
Email Messaging
Automatically create a number of email messages, populating a pre formatted message text with the data. For example sending order or delivery confirmations.
First Row Field or Text
The ability to specify that the first row of the created file becomes either the field text or the field names for easier identification. The field names or text can be user defined.
Excel Multi Worksheets
Use multiple requests to populate the same workbook, creating multiple sheets. Group the requests as a procedure for single execution.
Flexible Naming Conventions
As well as text names, use selected parameters to automatically create the workbook, database, sheet or table names. Example of parameters available DATE,TIME,DAY,MONTH,WEEK.
Automatic Macro or DTS Package Execution
A macro defined within the Excel workbook or an Access database or an SQL DTS package can automatically be executed once the data is transferred.This will take place prior to the creation of any E-mail.
Access or SQL Database
Create new databases, new tables, replace tables or append to existing tables.
Pre & Post Processing
Pre & post processing options are available on the AS/400 via commands or programs. Post processing is available on the PC as an executable batch file.
Code Page Conversion For Foreign Language Character Sets
RouteOne will support conversion from different code pages to cater for different language sets.
