PC-iRoute selectively extracts and transfers data from various PC formats. The data source may be located anywhere on the network or an FTP site and transferred to:
- The iSeries to create, append, replace or update file(s)
- Other PC formats
- FTP sites and network locations
All aspects of the data extraction process, from pre processing through to post processing, are configurable through the creation or modification of a PC-iRoute Script.
The technical architecture of the product provides for automated, reliable data extraction combined with rapid data transfer.
To extract and transfer data, the user simply defines the data to be extracted from the PC format and provides the details of where the data is to be sent, what output format is required and any additional processing options required such as email. Once created the request can be saved for later execution. The request can be run on ad hoc basis, scheduled or triggered by an event such as the arrival of an email or the detection of files placed in folders.
